Floe is the free plugin that our sample libraries run in. Version 2.0 transforms what you can do with it.
Alongside this update, we've refreshed our sample library catalogue, and added some new presets to our music boxes and the community packages — utilising the new granular synthesis and arpeggiators.
Available now — download and play today.
Available on Windows, macOS and Linux as a CLAP/VST3/AU plugin — it's free and open source, a companion project to FrozenPlain, both by the same developer. It's even open for others to make sample libraries for (programming required).
Floe's controls are now organised across two clear pages: LAYERS and EFFECTS, plus a distraction-free PERFORM view for live playing. More space and more controls.
Filters and EQ are visual — shape them by dragging nodes directly. LFOs are visual too, allowing you to see the shape of modulation.
Any layer can now play its samples as grains: stretch, blur and reshape a sound into pads and evolving textures. It works with every Floe library, including ones you already own.
Full granular synthesis documentationSet a held chord in motion. Every layer has its own arpeggiator, tempo-synced to your DAW — control rate, length, step ties, humanisation and more.
Full arpeggiator documentationPlay realistic sampled instruments, and shape them with powerful new sound design tools. Floe is free, and so are these libraries. No sign-up or catches — just download and install them. They've been updated for 2.0, utilising Floe's new arpeggiator and granular synthesis.
Our free multi-sampled Victorian music box now includes new presets built on the 2.0 features — arpeggiated patterns and granular textures alongside its natural music box tones.
Get Music Box Suite Freefloe.audio is also home to a set of free community packages — open-source ports and conversions, refreshed for 2.0 with new presets built using its latest tools. Grab Taiko Drums, Celtic Harp, Xylophone, Ocarina, or Antique IRs and start playing — free, and ready to mix with any other Floe library.
Browse the community packagesEvery Floe library gains the full set of 2.0 features — instruments you've owned for years have whole new depths to explore.
And each library has been refreshed in its own right: all instruments and presets are now fully tagged for easier searching — particularly handy if you have multiple libraries installed. Additionally, they use the new Floe sample library format, and Dulcitone and both Music Box Suites have improved visuals.
