Relive the magic of the 19th century with an authentic vintage dulcitone, captured with a impressive realism. Add a one-of-a-kind texture to your compositions, a sweet celesta-like, tuning fork piano.
Immerse yourself in the warm, nostalgic atmosphere of a genuine 5-octave Model F dulcitone, faithfully recreated in this exceptional sound library. Designed to preserve the tonal richness and organic character of the original instrument, Dulcitone captures every nuance through precise and soulful sampling.
Alongside the classic dulcitone tone, you’ll find performance variations recorded with three types of mallets: soft mallets for mellow, intimate tones, rubber mallets for warm, rounded attacks with a subtle percussive edge, and wooden mallets for bright, articulate strikes that cut through a mix. In total, X factory presets showcase the full depth of this virtual instrument right out of the box.
The dulcitone used for this library — a 5-octave Model F (serial #1286) — comes from Vintage Keys Studio and is owned by Steve Christie, an experienced session keyboardist and audio engineer who participated in the complete sampling of the instrument. Recording combined close microphones (Oktava MK012 with omnidirectional capsules) with room microphones (AKG 414) to deliver a sound that is both detailed and immersive.
