Floe’s GUI
BETA

This software is currently in beta. While we’ve worked hard to ensure stability, you may encounter unexpected behaviour.

Successor to Mirage

Floe is our successor to Mirage. We've split it into a new project with a new name; it's now free, open-source and open to other developers. It has a life beyond FrozenPlain.

Works seamless with FrozenPlain

FrozenPlain's sample libraries work perfectly in Floe (Kontakt instruments not supported).

Important: you must also install the Mirage Compatibility package to use FrozenPlain Mirage libraries. Download Mirage Compatibility Package.zip. Install this using the install package button in Floe's GUI.

Over time, we will be updating our products to use Floe's new sample library format so we can take advantage of some new features. This will be a free update.

New features

It has improved features over Mirage: VST3 and CLAP support, combine sounds from different libraries, easier installation, and more.

Floe’s website

Floe lives on it's own website: floe.audio. The page you're currently on serves as a landing page for FrozenPlain users. Visit the Floe website for downloads, documentation, and more.

Try it today

Floe is completely free with no tricks. Download and try it today. Install 5 free sample libraries. Our use any of our Mirage libraries.

Familiar with Mirage?

New sample library format

Floe can perfectly load Mirage libraries, but it also introduces a new sample library format. The new format has some advantages over the Mirage format:

  • Libraries are open folders of FLAC/WAV files - use the sounds everywhere.
  • Tags and organisation - extensive tagging is possible for easier browsing.

For those reasons, we will be updating our libraries to the new format over time. Here’s the current list of Floe-optimised libraries:

What’s changed since Mirage?

  • Added VST3 and CLAP plugin formats.
  • Combine sounds from different libraries.
  • Install libraries anywhere with one click.
  • Tags, filters and better browsing.
  • Create your own sample libraries (programming required).
  • Offline, no-hassle installer.
  • Open-source and free.
  • Voice count increased from 32 to 256
  • New comprehensive documentation.
  • Added ability to have multiple locations for libraries and presets.
  • Improved the options for selected loop modes for instruments.
  • New sample library format - open folder of FLAC/WAV files.
  • New GUI for preferences.
  • Fixed issue with FrozenPlain - Arctic Strings crossfade layers not working
  • Fixed issue where loop crossfade wouldn’t be applied - resulting in pops
  • Fixed issue where Mirage would spend forever trying to open
